A common pitfall in final submissions (Bachelor's or Master's theses) is the issue of plagiarism. To help you avoid this, we offer a plagiarism check using our proprietary software to compare your work with online sources. The results you receive from us will show whether you have copied text passages, etc., from the internet.

Unlike the plagiarism check offered by FHWien der WKW (Turnitin), which uploads your work to a database and compares it with existing works, our plagiarism check (PlagAware) uses the internet as a source as well as the PlagAware database. Even if the software indicates that there is no plagiarism, it cannot guarantee 100% accuracy – therefore, the plagiarism check cannot replace a manual review of your work.

After receiving the results of our plagiarism check, it is up to you to revise any potential plagiarism or to double-check the flagged passages. The software does not recognize quotations as such and therefore flags them as plagiarism.

If you are interested in a free plagiarism check, please send your work to plagiatscheck@oeh-fhwien.at via email. Name your files according to this pattern: Lastname_Firstname.fileformat (PDF, Word, txt, rtf, etc.).

The email must be sent from your edu.fh-wien-ac.at email address! Emails from other email addresses will be deleted without a reply.

The software prefers a .docx format without annotations or comments, as files containing comments will be returned. The check will be completed within approximately 5 business days (excluding holidays).

Printing can get quite expensive – especially when you have a lot of pages. If you need your documents printed quickly or don't have a printer at home, we're happy to help with our ÖH printing service.

If you'd like to use our printing service, simply drop by our student union office in room B517 during our opening hours with your documents on a USB stick.

We'll take care of the rest.

After many hours of work, your thesis is finally finished – and perhaps you'd like to do more than just save it as a file; you might actually want to hold it in your hands. That's exactly why we offer our binding service.

Even though theses at the university no longer need to be submitted in printed form, you can still have your work bound by us for personal use – for example, as a memento of your studies.

For the binding, we use a clear plastic cover and colored cardstock in black, white, or red for the back cover. We then use a colored adhesive binding.

The cost is €1 per binding, plus the printing costs.

If you'd like your work bound, simply send it to us digitally via email at office@oeh-fhwien.at. Please also specify which color you'd like for the back cover and the binding.

As soon as your work is printed and bound, we'll send you a notification with a pick-up time at our student union office in room B517 on the 5th floor of the B-wing.

No problem – our charging cable exchange has you covered. You can easily borrow a suitable charging cable from the ÖH office and recharge your device.

Available cables include USB-C cables, Lightning cables, and various laptop charging cables.

Simply drop by the ÖH office (room B517) during our opening hours and leave your contact details. If we have a suitable cable available, you can take it with you immediately.

Please return the borrowed cable within one week. If it is not returned on time, we will unfortunately have to charge you for the cable.

Forgot your calculator or presenter? No problem – with our equipment rental service, you can easily borrow the right device from us.
